The Chick-fil-A restaurant on Tom Hill Sr. Blvd. in North Macon, Georgia will again be the host sponsor of a computerized Christmas light display with more than 35,000 lights synchronized to Christmas music. We are also pleased to welcome four additional Macon Chick-fil-a restaurants to the project partnering this year spreading the word about the event and collecting donations as well from their respective customers. They include the Bloomfield, Macon Mall, Eisenhower and Zebulon Rd locations. The music will be broadcasted on FM station 89.9 and loudspeakers to nearby vehicles and persons in the vicinity of the display. It will be a free event that will attract thousands of local residents and holiday travelers on I-75. The event will take place Monday through Saturday from November 14th to January 8th, beginning at sunset and ending 10:00pm each night.

The goal of the “Light More Homes” Christmas Celebration is to spread JOY and raise awareness for the need of decent and affordable housing in Bibb and Jones Counties. The event will focus on the key role Macon Area Habitat for Humanity plays in providing this. The timing of this event reinforces Habitat for Humanity’s Christian mission to build houses, hopes, and dreams through partnerships with God and all sectors of the greater Macon community.

Proceeds from corporate sponsors and Chick-fil-A customers and online donations will go toward the construction of Fall 2010 Corporate Build currently underway.

This project was very successful in 2009 raising over $10,000 that was applied to the winter 2009 Mercer University Build. We here at Macon Area Habitat for Humanity grately appreciate the partnership with our event sponors and Chick-fil-A's staff for enthusiastically getting behind this project.
