Reports to: Executive Director

The ReStore manager is responsible for daily management of the Macon Area Habitat ReStore materials and retail operation for the direct support of Macon Area Habitat for Humanity’s goals and mission. This position works Tuesday-Saturday, 40 hours per week.

 

Supervision

Supervises Donation Associate(s), Cashier, volunteers and community service volunteers.

 

Finance and Administration

  • Implement and monitor systems for daily cash transactions and deposits.

  • Run and manage the cash register as required. 

  • Prepare deposits and take these to the banks.

  • Complete all daily financial paperwork as used by the ReStore.

  • Directly supervises Donation Associate(s) and Cashier

  • Be familiar with the ReStore operating budget.

  • Work with Executive Director and ReStore Committee Members to set annual goals for the ReStore.

 

Operations and Sales

  • Implement daily operations procedures.

  • Implement customer service procedures.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse.

  • Operate basic computer applications, including word processors, spreadsheets and databases.

  • Operate office equipment, including answering machines, copiers, facsimiles, telephones and calculators.

  • Monitors ReSupply program and phone calls to schedule donation pick-ups and assign these to the Donation Associate(s). 

  • Oversee the work of Donation Associate(s) and volunteers to ensure that donations are picked up, recorded into inventory and that donations forms are distributed to the donors.

  • Regularly assess the sales in the different store departments to identify optimal sales products so that the ReStore donation procurement process can be modified accordingly. 

  • Positively represent the MAHFH ReStore in the wider Macon community, with Habitat for Humanity International and with community and business groups whose involvement can benefit the growth of the ReStore.

  • Foster partnerships with other ReStores in Georgia.

  • Work with staff and the ReStore Committee to develop and implement a ReStore marketing plan.  Evaluate its effectiveness through customer surveys.

  • Design and implement customer appreciation events.

  • Works with Outreach Manager to promote the store via Social Media.

 

Volunteers and Staffing

  • Coordinate and supervise the training of volunteers.

  • Create volunteer schedule.

  • Supervise the placement of volunteers.

  • Implement strategies to retain valued volunteers. 

  • Communicate with the ReStore Committee.

  • Attend the ReStore Committee meetings.

  • Understand local ReStore policies and procedures.

  • Understand HFH construction materials and needs.

  • Communicate effectively, both written and oral.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, Habitat homeowners and the public.

 

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent.

  • Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

  • Have good customer relations by engaging effectively and happily with donors, customers, and volunteers.

  • Have a valid driver’s license which allows employee to operate a box truck, and a good, current driving record. Pass a DOT physical exam.

  • Be capable of operating the cash register and have a good, working knowledge of computers, Microsoft office programs and the internet. 

  • Social media experience or willingness to learn social media platforms is preferred.

  • Commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

  • Must dress in a professional and safe manner.

 

Work Experience

  • Minimum of five years' work experience, with at least two years in retail sales management.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, squat, bend and climb in/out of truck.

  • Ability to spend the majority of the day standing or moving about store.

Currently accepting applications for ReStore Donation Associate

Hours:  40 hours per week (Tuesday - Friday)

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as lead Donation Associate

  • Utilize ReSupply software to manage pick-up schedule.

  • Screen donations for product usability.

  • Communicate with ReStore Manager regarding nature of shipments.

  • Coordinate/cooperate with volunteers, making their experience meaningful.

  • Drive Habitat for Humanity vehicles to pick up donated goods.

  • Ensure that all donations are handled in a safe and orderly manner for employees and volunteers.

  • Keep an ongoing discussion with ReStore Manager as to salability and availability of donations.

  • Ensure that routine maintenance on ReStore vehicles (oil change, tire inflation, etc.) are made in a timely manner and that vehicles are kept fueled.

  • Load and unload all materials.

  • Serve ReStore clients as per direction of ReStore Manager.

  • Maintain the ReStore Warehouse in a clean and organized manner.

  • Positively represent the MAHFH ReStore in the wider Macon community, with Habitat for Humanity International and with community and business groups whose involvement can benefit the growth of the ReStore.

  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have experience in driving vans and/or commercial trucks.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license which allows employee to operate a box truck. Pass a DOT physical exam.

  • Requires a clean driving record for at least the previous 3 years.  Candidate needs to provide Georgia Motor Vehicle Report.

  • Good customer relations.  Capable of engaging effectively and happily with donors, customers, and volunteers.

  • Commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

  • Be willing and capable of learning to operate the cash register

  • Must dress in a professional and safe manner. 

  • Must have a smart phone to operate ReSupply software. Monthly cell phone stipend will be provided by MAHFH.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, squat, bend, and climb in/out of truck.

  • Ability to spend the majority of the day standing or moving about store.
