We are currently accepting applications for the following positions:​

Outreach Manager 

Purpose of Position: to provide strategic leadership, planning and execution of fundraising, marketing and volunteer activities for Macon Area Habitat for Humanity (MAHFH). Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Outreach Manager organizes and implements annual and capital campaign fundraising, grant writing, special events and volunteer activities. The position bears significant responsibility for the identification, cultivation and solicitation for annual, capital, major gift and planned giving prospects.

 

Goals:

  • Recommending the annual and/or multi-year campaign goals

  • Leading the development and implementation of plans to achieve those goals, including special events

  • Creating and implementing an active communication plan for the organization

  • Coordinating volunteer engagement for the organization

 

Responsibilities:

Capacity Building

  • Works closely with the Executive Director and Development Committee to develop and implement a fund-raising/marketing plan which feeds into MAHFH’s long-term strategic plan.

  • Provides monthly development and volunteer reports to Executive Director.

  • Develops, submits and manages budget for fundraising and marketing activities.

  • Attends relevant Habitat for Humanity International training events.

 

Marketing

  • Undertakes public speaking and volunteer recruitment engagements in the community.

  • Organizes house dedication celebrations.

  • Works with ReStore to increase sales and donations.

  • Responsible for all social media and outreach for the organization.

  • Responsible for creation and distribution of monthly electronic newsletter.

 

Fundraising

  • Organizes and manages MAHFH’s special events and other fundraising activities.

  • Updates affiliate’s grant submission calendar annually and works with Executive Director to coordinate submission of all possible grant requests to foundations and corporations.

  • Nurtures major donors where needed with help of staff, volunteers and Board Members.

  • Works with the ReStore Manager and Construction manager to develop a list of in-kind materials to solicit for affiliate house construction as well as the ReStore.

  • On average makes 10-15 connections per month to current and prospective donor partners.

  • Develops, maintains and utilizes database to cultivate donors to higher levels of giving.

  • Oversees donor recognition program.

 

Volunteer Recruitment and Management

  • Assess staff’s volunteer needs on a weekly basis and recruitment volunteers to work in the various programs within MAHFH.

  • Main communications with MAHFH volunteers and volunteer organizations.

  • Manage MAHFH volunteers working on project sites or the MAHFH office.

  • Maintain and grow relationships with volunteer groups (including corporate, faith based, high school, collegiate groups, etc.)

  • Manage online volunteer application process.

  • Track volunteers and hours and provide monthly reports to Executive Director.

 

Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Dedication to the goals and mission of Habitat for Humanity.

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in public relations, marketing and communications preferred.

  • Ability to think strategically, both individually and as part of a team.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including a willingness and ability to speak to large, public groups.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with computer programs including Microsoft Office, Keystone, Canva, full Adobe Suite, Google Suite, Meta Business Suite and all social medial channels.

  • Possess relationship building skills necessary to cultivate new donors and volunteers.

  • Be a positive role model and team player.
