"Josh's House"
Built by the Rotary Clubs of Macon
Josh’s House is a Habitat for Humanity home being built in memory of Josh Rogers, whose visionary leadership through NewTown Macon helped shape the city's future. The project was launched with support from the Rotary Clubs of Macon as a tribute to Josh’s enduring impact on the community. More than just a home, Josh’s House represents a shared commitment to building a stronger, more connected Macon through stable, affordable housing.

First Volunteer Group
We had our first build for "Josh's House" June 30th of 2025 with the help of volunteers from the local Macon Rotary Club. With the foundation and walls all set up the Rotary Club volunteers were busy framing for the side panels which they started that same day.
Construction Underway
Two weeks later we had our small Huddle volunteer group come by and put the finishing touches on the projects that our first Rotary group started.

Georgia Power and Metro Power
On July 23rd, 2025,we welcomed not one but two groups to the "Josh's House" build site. The first was a group of Georgia Power interns who helped with putting siding on the outside of the house. The second was a group from Metro Power who donated their Saturday to wire the entire house.
Rotary Club and Students at work
A few weeks later we had the honor to have two more separate groups join us at the build site. We had a group of students from the ACE high schools come to tidy up the landscaping and worksite. Then the Rotary group came back to do more siding on the back of the house.

Painting Begins
With the help of our Huddle group in mid August we dusted the walls in preparation of painting. When they finished with dusting our Huddle volunteers painted the entire ceiling but left the walls for our next group.
More Painting
Painting is rarely a one day affair so a few days after the ceiling was finished the Rotary volunteers came back to finish the walls. Thanks to such a large group of hard working Rotarians the entire house was painted in three and a half hours.

Base Board Painting
Thanks to the wonderful students of Wesleyan for coming out for their WOW A day service event. They worked hard to paint all of the base board and trim to help move construction forward.
Flooring, Base Boards, and Trim
In mid September we had the pleasure of welcoming B&D Industries to the work site for a full work day. These incredible volunteers helped measure, cut, and nail base boards. As well as helping install flooring and siding.

Landscaping Day
Historically landscaping is one of our most physically demanding build days for all of our work sites. But thanks to our amazing Rotary Club volunteers we were able to finish up way ahead of schedule!
Siding and Base Board inslation
In mid September we were luck enough to have two groups come to help us finish securing base board and siding. Generational Child Care came in the morning and Allstate insurance came in the afternoon and were wonderful to have on the site.

Cleanup and Caulking
Near the end of September we had the wonderful students and faculty of Middle Georgia University come for their service day. This great group of volunteers helped clean up the house and property as well as getting start on caulking the house.
Whole House day
We had the pleasure of having a small army of brothers from Mercer University's KA and ATO chapters. These young men nailed, painted, and caulked the base boards. Helps with siding and started on the railings of both the decks.

Last Rotary Group
Before we knew it came time for the last Rotary volunteer group to visit the job site. They helped with the deck and some finishing touches on the inside of the house. We can not thank them enough for all of the hard work they put into this house.
Last Group!!!
As we prepare to finish the house and get ready for our home dedication we had one more group join us to tie up some loose ends. The volunteers from Stafford came to help with the deck, the last of the siding, and finished off the rest of the project inside.
